Steps Challenge FAQs
The IASLC Steps Challenge is a seven-day virtual walk-a-thon that will raise money to support Research Grants.
Anyone! The Steps Challenge is open to anyone who wants to participate. Our Target Audiences are:
- In-person WCLC attendees
- Virtual WCLC attendees
- IASLC members
- Employees of Steps Challenge sponsors
- Family and friends of those listed above
- Anyone else who is interested in participating
The IASLC Steps Challenge begins August 4 and ends August 10. It is being held in conjunction with IASLC's 2022 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) taking place August 6-9 in Vienna, Austria.
Anywhere! Since this is a VIRTUAL walk-a-thon, people can join the Challenge and participate from anywhere in the world!
The Steps Challenge was created to:
- Raise money to support Research Grants
- Educate participants on the benefits of positive lifestyle habits, with an emphasis on how positive lifestyle habits impact patients as part of their treatment
- Help to bridge the gap between in-person WCLC attendees and virtual WCLC attendees.
To join the Steps Challenge:
- Donate at least EUR 25 to the International Lung Cancer Foundation's Steps Challenge Campaign
- Receive an email invitation containing a link to join the Challenge
- Click on that link to join the Challenge via the MoveSpring platform
- Sync your device (steps/activity tracker or phone app) with the MoveSpring platform OR
- Manually enter your steps/activity during the Challenge dates
After joining the Challenge, ENGAGE with other participants via the MoveSpring platform, where you can compete to meet individual and team goals, connect with colleagues and friends, and more.
