MEETING OVERVIEW

The IASLC Asia Conference on Lung Cancer (ACLC) will address key regional challenges, including the high prevalence of genetic mutations, environmental risk factors, and disparities in healthcare access. The conference will focus on expanding early detection through low-dose CT and AI, advancing biomarker testing, and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration among medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pulmonologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and all healthcare providers involved in the care of patients with thoracic malignancies. Sessions will explore strategies to improve access to targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and innovative surgical and radiotherapy techniques. Additionally, discussions will highlight public health initiatives, tobacco control, and approaches to reduce healthcare disparities. Education, training, and patient advocacy will remain central themes, ensuring a sustainable and patient-centered approach to lung cancer care across Asia.

  • CT Screening Symposium: Focusing on the latest advancements and challenges in CT screening for lung cancer and providing insights into how early detection continues to evolve as a critical tool in patient outcomes. 
  • Three Plenary Sessions: Covering some of the most important and timely topics in lung cancer research, including overcoming global disparities in care, multidisciplinary approaches to lung cancer treatment, and the latest technological advancements.

Call for Workshops

The ACLC2025 Program Committee is excited to announce the call for Pre-Conference Workshop proposals, which is only open to IASLC Members. We invite passionate and knowledgeable individuals or groups to submit proposals that will truly engage, educate, and inspire the ACLC 2025 audience. We are looking for sessions that provide innovative, hands-on learning experiences that move beyond traditional lectures and panel discussions, offering attendees tangible takeaways and actionable items they can apply in their day-to-day practice and research. Workshop space is limited, and it is possible that not all proposals can be accommodated. 

Organizing and presenting a pre-conference workshop at ACLC 2025 is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, connect with like-minded professionals, and help the IASLC in their goal of ‘Conquering Lung and Other Thoracic Cancers Worldwide in the 21st Century’.

Workshops are normally between 1.5 hours and 2 hours in length and are open for all registered WCLC 2025 delegates to attend. Organizing and presenting an interactive workshop at WCLC 2025 is an excellent opportunity to share your expertise, connect with like-minded professionals, contribute to the success of WCLC, and help IASLC in their goal of ‘Conquering Lung and Other Thoracic Cancers Worldwide in the 21st Century’.

We are looking for sessions that provide innovative, hands-on learning experiences that move beyond traditional lectures and panel discussions, offering attendees tangible takeaways and actionable items they can apply in their day-to-day practice and research.

    • Definition: Original scientific research that summarizes work done and major research findings.
    • Required sections for abstract submission:

  • Clinical Trials in Progress
    • Definition: Ongoing trials that have not reached pre-specified endpoints for analysis.
    • Required sections:
      • Introduction
      • Methods
    • Optional sections:
      • Results
      • Conclusion
  • Case Report
    • Definition: Detailed report of symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment and follow up of an individual patient. Must include a minimum of three (3), but preferably five (5) cases.
    • Required sections:
      • Introduction including selective literature review
      • Methods
      • Results
      • Conclusion
  • Late-Breaking Abstract
    • Definition:
      • LBA designation will only be given to impactful prospective studies that will change clinical practice within the year and whose data are not available at the time of regular abstract submission due to study events and/or timelines.
      • LBA designation is not a means for extending the regular abstract deadline. Highly impactful studies that have complete data should be submitted as a regular abstract and will be considered for a prominent oral presentation based on scoring by the program committee.
      • For abstracts that do not meet LBA requirements the authors will be given 5 business days to update the submitted data before the abstracts are re-classified as regular abstracts and rated based on the updated information.
    • Submission requirements:
      • Authors of LBA must submit an intent to submit an LBA abstract through the abstract portal by July 10, 2025 (23:59 PDT).
    • Required sections for intent to submit an LBA, which must be submitted by the July 10, 2025 deadline:
      • Explanation of why the abstract qualifies as late-breaking
      • Introduction
      • Methods, including applicable endpoints
      • Types of anticipated analysis and data to be reported
    • LBA Eligibility Review:
      • The Committee will review all submissions with the intent to submit LBA abstracts after the regular abstract submission deadline July 10, 2025. Authors of approved LBA applications will be notified and advised on the processes for submitting final data by September 4, 2025. Authors of abstracts not being accepted for LBA submissions will be notified and given 5 days to submit all available data before the abstract is re-classified as a regular abstract and included in the regular abstract review and scheduling process.
  • Encore Abstract
    • Definition: An abstract that has previously been presented at another meeting.
    • Eligibility:
      • An encore abstract will only be considered if there have been significant updates to the presentation.
      • Submitters are required to list any previous presentations during the abstract submission process.
  1. Is industry allowed to be in lead or senior author positions for abstract submissions?
    • Yes, industry is permitted to be in the lead and senior author positions in the author list of an abstract.
  2. Are there restrictions towards industry authors presenting abstracts?
    • Industry/pharmaceutical/commercial authors are prohibited from presenting Presidential, Oral, and Mini Oral presentations. Industry/pharmaceutical/commercial authors are permitted to present poster or e-poster presentations. 
  3. Is there a limit to the number of abstracts an author can submit?
    • No.
  4. Is there a charge for abstract submission?
    • No.
  5. Who holds the copyright for the abstracts?
    • The authors of the abstract, however, IASLC reserves the right to sell and retain any revenue/income from selling the abstracts, presentation materials or recordings of the presentations.
  6. Who holds the copyright for the presentation materials?
    • The authors, however, IASLC reserves the right to publish and sell copies/recordings of the presentation materials.
  7. Is the presenting author required to be an IASLC member?
    • No.
  8. Does the abstract submission need to be sponsored by an IASLC member?
    • No.

 

  1. How do I submit a workshop proposal?
    • All proposals must be submitted online.
  2. Do I need to be an IASLC member to submit a proposal?
    • Yes. Member status will be verified by the IASLC prior to review. 
  3. Can industry representatives submit a workshop proposal?
  4. How long should the workshop be?
    • Workshops are normally between 1-2 hours in length and your proposal may be modified to fit within the available time. 
  5. What needs to be included in my submission?
    • Workshop proposals must include:
      • Description of workshop
      • Statement regarding how the workshop will benefit attendees
      • Three learning objectives of the workshop
      • Proposed faculty
  6. What resources will the IASLC provide to accepted workshops?
    • The IASLC will provide space within the conference venue and basic a/v (screen, projector, HDMI cable connection, microphone).
    • It will be the workshop organizer’s responsibility to make all arrangements including: faculty registration, accommodation, additional equipment.
    • No financial support for workshop faculty will be provided by the conference.
  7. Acceptance Criteria
    • Each workshop proposal will be evaluated according to the relevance of its topic, the expertise and experience of the workshop organizers, and the workshop’s potential for attracting participants and generating useful results and discussions. We underline the importance of active and creative sessions that foster a collaborative environment and incorporate a variety of engaging and interactive approaches.
