(Denver, CO) September 12, 2021 --The Board of Directors of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin Richeimer, CAE, DES to the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Richeimer joined the IASLC in 2010 as its first Director of Membership and brings deep experience in global membership relations, strategic planning, and association leadership. Since 2019, she has served as Chief Experience Officer, with responsibility for leadership of the Member Experience team, including strategy and management related to membership, conferences, the IASLC Journals, and education. Her contributions to organizational leadership and the development of comprehensive programs to benefit members of the lung cancer community have been essential in maintaining the IASLC’s status as the premier global society dedicated to lung and thoracic cancer treatment and research.
Richeimer brings nearly 20 years of association management experience to the position and possesses the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, which is the highest designation in the association industry, demonstrating excellence across multiple domains within association governance, executive leadership, and organizational strategy. She has overseen membership growth from just over 2,000 members in 2010 to a record high of 8,693 total members in 2019, along with record WCLC 2019 attendance of 7,755.

As the interim CEO, Richeimer will partner closely with the IASLC Board and staff to ensure that the mission and strategy established by the Board continue without interruption. The Board expressed appreciation for Kristin’s commitment and expertise and is confident in her ability to maintain the momentum of IASLC initiatives, programs. and services while the organization conducts a nationwide search process for the next CEO. The IASLC’s Board of Directors remains committed to finding a new executive leader for the organization who will guide the IASLC as it develops and executes a comprehensive plan for the future and continues to advance the mission of conquering thoracic cancers worldwide.
