Considering the universal concern due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the IASLC continues to monitor the situation daily. Our primary focus is to ensure the health and welfare of attendees and faculty at all IASLC meetings and activities. Due to this evolving situation, including the possibility that travel restrictions and limitations on large gatherings will persist, at this time the IASLC is transitioning its live conferences to virtual conferences through January 2021. The IASLC’s virtual offerings will include both live stream and on-demand content, ensuring that educational and scientific content are available to even more attendees than could have attended the live meeting, while protecting public health.

While we are saddened to be physically distant, we are encouraged that these virtual conferences will continue to provide opportunities for attendee engagement that have been a hallmark of the IASLC’s in-person conferences. By offering these meetings virtually, the IASLC will continue to deliver on its fundamental mission by bringing much needed education in all aspects of thoracic cancer to the widest possible audience.

The IASLC website (www.IASLC.org) is the official source of updates to all IASLC meetings and events. We have updated the status of our upcoming meetings as follows:

• IASLC WCLC 2020 Singapore: Virtual Presidential Symposium (August 8, 2020): The IASLC will present potentially practice changing studies and recent advances in thoracic oncology. This complimentary Symposium is a prelude to the new innovative research that will be presented at the WCLC 2020 scheduled for January 28-31, 2020.   The Virtual Symposium Broadcast will be 120 minutes in duration starting at 5:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight time; 7:00 p.m. Singapore time; 1:00 p.m. Vienna time. Register Now.

• 2020 Hot Topic Meeting: Liquid Biopsy (October 2-3, 2020) (LB 2020) will be a fully virtual event. We are excited to present world-class educational opportunities that deliver significant academic, scientific and educational value. The scientific program is available now. Abstract submissions will be open until July 31, 2020. Registration for Liquid Biopsy 2020 will open soon. Further details can be found here.

• IASLC 2020 World Conference on Lung Cancer (January 28-31, 2021) (WCLC 2020): This conference will now be a fully virtual event. If you have already registered, your registration will be automatically transferred to the virtual meeting and any difference in fees will be refunded by August 28, or you can choose to donate any potential refund to the ILC Foundation, to support lung cancer research. If you wish to cancel your registration completely, please request a full refund here no later than August 28, 2020. Cancellations received after August 28, 2020 may be subject to the standard cancellation policy. Abstract submission remains open until August 28, 2020. • IASLC 2021 World Conference on Lung Cancer (September 11-14, 2021) (WCLC 2021): This conference will be held in Denver, Colorado. It is planned that the 2021 conference will have in person and virtual components. The World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) is the world’s largest meeting dedicated to lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. Further details available soon.

We recognize that many of our global and multidisciplinary members and meeting attendees are healthcare workers who are on the front-line of studying, diagnosing and treating lung cancer. We want to express our gratitude and admiration to them and to all health care professionals working in incredibly difficult circumstances to contain this outbreak and prevent further loss of life. In addition, our thoughts are with the many patients and their families who are coping with the effects of this pandemic.
